Sandra Gal was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, and came to the U.S. to attend college at the University of Florida. She won four events and was a two-time All-American while playing for the Gators. In 2008, she graduated with honors from Florida with a degree in advertising. Sandra began playing golf seriously at the age of 14; her father was her first instructor. Growing up, she was also involved in tennis, ballet, violin, theater, painting and wake boarding. Gal's rookie season on Tour came in 2008. She earned a pair of top 10 finishes in 2009.
